Mission Impossible… Has Begun.

So, my friend Sue’s bday is coming up and I REALLY wanted to make her something pretty because she’s an awesome friend and has always been there for me. So the craziness I’m about to put myself through… is so worth it.

I finally found what I want to make her. Now, the trick is that I can’t actually show you what I’m making as she reads my blog. Ya that’s right Sue, I’m talking about you on the interwebs… :)

What I can tell you are some clues, well 1 clue really. Now, I’m not sure if she will figure it out from this, but she might… this is the fun part. Some of you may know what I’m making based on this very short, yet so meaningful sentence ;)

She sold the yarn to Isabel.

Now, if you figured out what it is… PLEASE do not post it in a comment as she will see it. Oh how fun it is to tease her.

Now here’s the fun part. I ended up getting a skein of hand dyed Tanis Fiber Arts in lace weight. I’m going to double on it so it’s not so “open”. It’s a beautiful peacock blue… yes Sue, I got your fave blue, I’ll let you know that much… hell, I’ll even let you see it:

Ok, back to the suicide mission… I have NEVER ever knit with such fine yarn. Even with it doubled up it still wins for the finest yarn. It somehow manages to be a smidge lighter than the sock yarn I use. The doozy, is that her Bday is on the 24th of THIS month. That’s in oh…15 days… luckily her party is on the 27th so that gives me an extra 3 days. But still… this is gonna be close. All knitting projects on the go have now come to a grinding hault as I attempt what to me, is the impossible. Man I love a challenge! Especially when it’s for someone who deserves it!

If manage to pull this off, I will be the happiest girl in the world!!!!  I’m a pretty quick knitter… now it’s time to see just how quick!

I’ll take pics of my progress and post em after I give it to her ;)

Sue, when I give this to you… if you don’t like it… just pretend k? lol

Hey Telma, did you get this yarn at Romni wools??? I’ve been looking for yarn like that!!! I went to Romni the other day and I was completely and utterly OVERWHELMED…lol and didn’t end up leaving with anything lol

Do you go to any other yarn shops that are a little less pricey??
I found a factory outlet up in Mississauga that sell yarn at a discount price of all different types of brands. I’ll let you know what I find when I go there this week :)

hey denise!!! i got that yarn at the purple purl in my hood. it was about $20 for over 1000 yards :) not bad at all! Romni can be a little overwhelming. if you want i can go with you i’ve been going there for years and just now figured out how to get to what i want without getting distracted! lol

let me know for sure what you find… oh! and downstairs at romni… that’s where you can get spindles of yarn and it’s ends up being WAY cheaper…
