Mysterious Purple Flowers

Every year I get one or two stems of these growing in the yard. This year I was lucky enough to get three of them. I love them so much. The problem is that I have no idea what they are. They’re so vibrant and delicate. I love the purple and white spots on the petals. When you flip one over and see the bright yellow pollen against the purple… well, to me it’s inspiring.

I think that I will use these flowers as the inspiration for the color palette for the Fiona All Grown Up top I want to make. Purple with a hit of bright yellow or white. I think it will look cool… what you do you think?

If you can identify these… please let me know…

Yes! I’ve seen these flowers before at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden last spring. They *are* very mysterious, and I’m totally blanking on the name.
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fiona All Grown Up Pattern. Now I want to knit one too… perhaps out of the KnitPicks Gloss yarn I was saving for Little Birds Cardigan? Meh, who knows when I’ll ever get around to knitting that. :)
Anywho, those the color of those flowers will make an excellent color scheme. Go for it! :D
