The First Official Stitch N Bitch Chez Telma’s
I’ve been meaning to get together with these fine laday’s for a while now for a good ol’ Stitch N Bitch. The time finally came where we could all get together and voila! The Stitch N Bitch is born!
The girls, Sue, Shannon and Meredith, came over after work and we got straight to it. You see, we only had 2 hours to teach Meredith how to knit! I can just imagine how frustrating it must have been for her but it looked like she was having fun. To me, there’s 2 types of “beginner” knitters, the loose ones, and the tight ones. I know that sounds wrong… but it’s always one or the other, either the stitches are too loose or they’re sooooo tight that the yarn squeaks when you try and put your needle through.
Meredith, is a tight knitter. lol everytime I heard that squeak I got a grin on my face remembering when I used to do the same thing! Meredith, if you’re reading this, worry not my friend, you’ll be as addicted to knitting as the rest of us in no time. I Guarantee it!
Here’s a pic of Shannon – who was knitting some fingerless gloves – teaching Meredith how to cast on: (ps, sorry for the crappy iphone pics)
Soon enough, Meredith was casting on all on her own!
We ordered in some Thai food… mmmm… and Meredith brought some beyond amazing deserts from Daniel & Daniel. It was awesome.
After dinner, Sue finished knitting her baby sweater that she had started over 2 years ago now when she was expecting her daughter. Sue was the first out of our circle of friends to have babies, so now the deal is whoever get’s preggies next, get’s the sweater. She’s hilarious… she’s managed to make getting preggers into a competitive game. lol
Ladies and gents, the lovely miss Sue:
I kept trying to get a pic of her “in her natural knitting state” but she’s such a ham and kept smirking at the camera. Now I know where her daughter get’s it from! lol I finally got her to look away and snapped this one :
And you can see that she’s STILL smirking! lol
I opted to not work on my shawl as it was not conducive to “bitchin” … so I knit a mini version of the Hubby Hat v2.0 for Steve’s lil boy so he can have a hat just like daddy :)
The night was awesome. I hope that we can keep it going on a regular basis and eventually have enough ladies to warrant taking over a bar! :) Can’t wait to do it again…..
