The Return of The Infamous Craft Room
As I mentioned previously, we’re moving in about a month and half :) This whole buying/selling houses thing is stressful, but thinking of my new craft room/office is making all the stress worth it.
The house came with an actual office. The previous owners got some custom shelves and a desk put in. The desk itself is a hideous forest green counter top, but that’s ok. I can ‘pretty’ it up :) It has some wood shelves and set of drawers built in too. Actually, now I’m wondering if i can paint or wallpaper over the counter…. hmmmm. Regardless… I’m gonna take this office and make it my own :)
The first thing I want to do is make some new containers for my knitting needles. Right now all my needles are either in a spaghetti tuper ware (long ones) or a shoe box (DPN and Circs). This morning I was making my coffee when the empty tin can inspired me.
I’m going to take a few of these and knit some covers for them. I’m thinking these will be perfect for my DPN’s. I may be able to store some of my shorter straight needles too. For my long straight needles… I may have to think of something else. I like the idea of knitting socks for the tin cans cause then, I can just stick my sewing needles into them all neatly like. That way, whenever I need one, I know EXACTLY where to find it :)
I really can’t wait to move. I know it’s going to be nuts with a 4/5 month old, but it will all be worth it. I’ve been knitting away on another Hilde by Kristen aka @Voolenvine on twitter. I’m knitting it in purple again. I couldn’t help myself. I’ve been getting in some serious knitting time as the wee one has been taking some longer naps. That… and I’ve decided to ignore some chores ;) Here’s where I’m at so far:
Speaking of purple… my awesome hubby gave me a gift card for a mani/pedi for mothers day and I finally cashed it in :D It was the first time that I went out on my own sans bebe since she was born. It was sooooo relaxing and awesome. As per usual, I had a hard time picking out a polish color. I went for this purplish pink sparkly stuff. I feel like a new woman! Pretty feet and hands can go a long way! tee hee.
They look way more pinkish in real life. I’m determined to find polish as close to this one as possible. I’m so in love with it :) And seeing as the wee one is still napping…. I’m gonna go get some more done on my Hilde. Ta!!!!

Congrats on the big move, lady! It’s stressful now but will be totally worth it once you put your own personal touch on things— which will be awesome!!!
Also I’ve probably said it but I’ll say it again… Your little munchkin is beautiful!!!
