Thou Shall Only Use Straight Needles
So, as I mentioned in my previous posts, I’m attending the WWKIP day event in Toronto where we’re trying to break the record for most knitters, knitting simultaneously. I was so very excited about this until I received a message from the organizers today about the “rules”. Here they are:
Needles need to be straight (no circular needles) and there needs to be two of them, no crocheting either.
Also pencils, chopsticks and any other truly inventive items that could be used are strictly ruled out.
So, there go my plans of knitting on a shawl! At first I really didnt care, but they really should call this the “most people knitting on straight needles” world record attempt. Since when does knitting only count when it’s on straight needles? Kate (@Knitsophrenic) suggested knitting one of those cute square baby hats. It’s an awesome idea. BUT here’s the thing about me and knitting. If someone asks me to knit them something, I REALLY have to want to knit that. I dont like being told what to knit, and how. The world record people are really really lame for putting this rule upon us. I like to make those decisions myself cause for rules, well I have a job for that.
I’m trying to not let bitterness kick in cause really, it’s gonna be a fun day. I just have to look through my stash and see what I have and assess the situation.
So, Thank You Kate for the awesome suggestion! If anyone else has a suggestion for some straight needle knitting, please leave a comment :)

That is pretty annoying! Knit a bomb! You’ll be able to leave it there/tag it nearby when the gathering is over.
Circular needles knit too! Revolucion!
